Here’s what you really need to know.
Dan wants the beatem ups.
Capcom obliges with the Capcom Beat 'Em Up Bundle which includes Final Fight, Captain Commando, The King of Dragons, Knights of the Round and Warriors of Fate, as well as two games that were previously unavailable on consoles: Armored Warriors and Battle Circuit.
And then Jon and Chris have the only correct best opinion with the announcement of Katamari Damacy Reroll.
There were a few other things of note I guess:
All the good PS1/2 era Final Fantasy games will be ported to the Switch - Final Fantasy VII, IX, X, X-2, and XII. (Note: VIII is missing, which is right and just). They’re also porting FINAL FANTASY CRYSTAL CHRONICLES Remastered Edition, Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD, World of Final Fantasy Maxima, Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon EVERY BUDDY! which……..ok.
We now know that the Switch Online service will start Sept 18 and go for $20 per year. You’ll get online play, streaming retro game library, some cloud saves, and access to a smart phone app that allows voice chat.
In addition to the details about the service, they also announced official NES wireless controllers that can be charged on the Switch just like the Joy-cons, which is cool. One thing to note though, the controllers will only be available to subscribers of the online service and limited to one bundle of 2 per subscription (individual or family).
You can see the rest of the announcements and rewatch the Direct here.
