In our continuing series to highlight the most intriguing titles to come in 2016, let's take a look at..............
No Man's Sky
This list is the most intriguing titles. I want to make that distinction clear, because No Man’s Sky is not a title I’m personally hyped about, but this title has intrigue in spades.
“No Man’s Sky is a game about exploration and survival in an infinite procedurally generated galaxy.”
Like whoa. INFINITE procedurally generated. I remember the days when they said “fully destructible environments” and couldn’t nail that promise, so the idea of an infinitely sized galaxy where as we progress into uncharted vastness, something is being created specifically for me to see for the first time in the history of histories, and then that same something-from-nothingness will forever appear before everyone else; mind bottling.
The game isn’t just about exploration, but survival as well. Resources can be collected from these newly found worlds and traded for better ships, suits and equipment in order to ready you for your next exploration mission. Across these uncharted worlds, you traverse in first person mode by foot and between the stars by flying - and fighting in - your ship.
It’s all very “jack of all trades, master of none” when you hear about all these aspects, but initial impressions seem favorable. We will only be able to see what that all means when the game finally makes it’s debut in June 2016.
